Join us for the Learning Disability Group of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire AGM

The Learning Disability Group of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire are having their 2nd AGM on the 11th of April. The group has been on the go in Aberdeen for many years, (and many of us have been part of it since the early days) but this is the second year in the new format as an independent organisation covering the Shire as well. The group is supported by Marie and Linda from Grampian Opportunities.

Over the years the group has got involved in feeding back on strategies, the design of the new part of Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, feedback on consultations with the Scottish Health Council, work with Community Wardens on reducing hate crime and feeling safe, as well as creating Easy Read documents amongst other things. Ian Stones the chair of the group was recently given an RSA Fellowship for his work.

It would be great to see some new faces and take part in discussions about what else we can do in the next 12 months, please pass this on to people who might be interested as it will be a friendly accessible evening. Hope to see some of you there!

Cheers,

Alastair
